Whereas books, audio, video and other forms of media have been found in libraries in Wyoming Public Libraries that are available to minors that portray inappropriate, immoral, and indecent sexual acts; and
Whereas the President of the Wyoming Library Association, which Wyoming Public Libraries support and are members of, did not support HB0194 in 2025; and
Whereas the Wyoming Library System has shown their support for the non-partisan American Liberty Association, who, in turn, have partnered with and supported the non-partisan League of Women Voters; and
Whereas the Wyoming Legislature was unable to vote on HB0194 in 2025,
Now Therefore be it Resolved that the exemption from promoting obscenity to minors for county public libraries be repealed.
Be it Further Resolved any Wyoming Public Library to have material that portrays sexually inappropriate acts, whether in print, digitally, video, or available on any other media, that are not placed in an adult section with access to minors prohibited should have their library budget suspended.
Be it Further Resolved should any Wyoming elected official, in the future, fail to support said legislation, the Wyoming Republican Party will withdraw all support from that elected official.
