Resolution That U.S. Armed Forces Shall Only Be Sent to War by Declaration of War

WHEREAS, the United States Constitution clearly states in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 that “The Congress shall have the Power...To declare War;” and,

WHEREAS, the United States Congress hasn’t declared war since World War II; and,

WHEREAS, every war engaged in by the United States Armed Forces since World War II has been unconstitutional; and,

WHEREAS, the United States of America hasn’t won a war since World War II; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED that the Wyoming Republican Party does not support the deployment of members of the United States armed forces to engage in war (or “police action”) by an executive action. The armed forces of the United States shall only be sent to war by a declaration of war from the United States Congress as outlined in Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the United States Constitution.
