Promote Civics Education

WHEREAS, one purpose of education is to prepare students to be responsible citizens; and,

WHEREAS, responsible citizenship requires knowledge and appropriate love of one’s own state and country: their histories, their heroes, their traditions, their economies, and their forms of government; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that all publicly-funded institutions of education in Wyoming provide students with a firm foundation in knowledge of the State of Wyoming, its history, and its form of government;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all publicly-funded institutions of education in Wyoming provide students with a firm foundation in knowledge of the American Republic, its history, its Founding documents, and the development of its form of government;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all publicly-funded institutions of education in Wyoming provide students with a firm foundation in knowledge of the American story in relation to world history, including the contrast between the free social, political, and economic forms of the United States of America and the tyrannical social, political, and economic forms of atheistic Communism.
