Federal Debt and Spending

WHEREAS, the Wyoming Republican Party recognizes the Federal Government has proven its inability and/or unwillingness to spend wisely and be good stewards over our tax dollars; and

WHEREAS, the Wyoming Republican Party acknowledges that the Federal

Government is using tax dollars to police the world with hundreds of military bases throughout the world and to kill innocent men, women, and children (e.g., Bagdad “shock and awe”); and

WHEREAS, the Federal Government is using tax dollars to implement and fund

numerous programs for which it is not authorized by the U.S. Constitution; and

WHEREAS, deficit spending eventually leads to inflation which is a “hidden” tax on every man, woman, and child; and

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Wyoming Republican Party calls for deficit spending only with an affirmative super majority vote of ¾ of the full U.S. House of

Representatives and ¾ of the full U.S. Senate; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Wyoming Republican Party insists that any

debt created by deficit spending that is not repaid within 5 years, results in all

Congressional and White House salaries and expense accounts be reduced by 75% until all debt is fully repaid with interest. There will be no other salary or expense account adjustments during debt repayment and no future restitution of moneys lost; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Wyoming Republican Party recognizes that the federal government must reduce spending for some programs in a gradual fashion, but over a time period not to exceed 5 years.
