Support The People’s Initiative to Limit Property Tax in Wyoming

WHEREAS: All over Wyoming, Property Taxes are rising exponentially and,

WHEREAS: This has been going on for a number of years, and,

WHEREAS: The Wyoming Legislature has failed to pass bills over the last two years to ease the tax burden for all of their constituents, and,

BE IT RESOLVED: The Wyoming Republican Party fully supports the People’s Initiative to Limit Property Tax in Wyoming through a Homeowner’s Exemption for qualified homeowners’ primary residence by reducing the assessed value of their property by 50 percent before calculating the property tax, and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Wyoming Republican Party supports a bill to cap the rate of increase in property taxes year to year without raising taxes elsewhere.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Wyoming Republican Party demands that our Representatives and Senators cast votes in support of these measures.
