We only have 38 days to pass eight appropriations bills. Under the current calendar, we have enough time to get through the open amendment conference with the Senate but there is no time to waste. We had a great bill on Friday, September 29, 2023, that would have cut discretionary spending by 29%, and made progress on securing the border. However, the same people pushing to vacate killed that bill and ended up with a CR on Saturday, September 30, 2023, that Harriet [Hageman] voted against. Democrats and the media, are reveling in this self-inflicted chaos, and even Liz [Cheney] has called on the Democrats to ask them to support the motion to vacate. We don't have time to waste right now. We have to get spending under control.
