Governor Bryant B. Brooks was the seventh Governor of the State of Wyoming. Brooks, a Massachusetts native, arrived in Big Muddy, Wyoming in the spring of 1880 and began his careers as cowboy and stockgrower, then oilman and banker. His extensive political career included serving as a Republican National Convention delegate, and winning seats as a state legislator in 1892 and Governor in 1905. He was the first Governor to occupy the newly constructed Governor’s mansion, completed in 1904.
