Mask or no mask? Know your rights.
It’s important to understand our rights as spelled out in the Wyoming Constitution. For example, Article 1, Section 7 provides that “Absolute, arbitrary power over the lives, liberty and property of freemen exists nowhere in a republic, not even in the largest majority.” Article 1, Section 38 states that each competent adult shall have the right to make his or her own health care decisions and that parents and guardians have the right to make healthcare decisions for their children. It also states that “the State of Wyoming shall act to preserve these rights from undue governmental infringement.”
Protecting our rights is a multi-pronged responsibility. It includes electing those we know will defend our freedoms and holding them accountable for the decisions they make. Individuals must weigh risk and reward and act accordingly as it relates to their own health and that of their family. Finally, we must ensure that our elected representatives are the ones making the ultimate decisions, not unelected bureaucrats who should never be given the power to infringe on our freedoms.
Consider the information and data for yourself. Then, if you believe your rights are being infringed upon, contact your elected officials and tell them that it is their responsibility to protect your constitutional freedoms not to trample them.
